Project goal

The main objective of the project is to capitalize on the bioactive potential of plant resources from fruit and viticulture. Both fresh fruit (especially shrub fruit) and vegetable waste resulting from primary processing (e.g. vegetable waste resulting from grape squeezing), have a rich content of bioactive by-products, poorly used in Romanian industry. Within the project we aim to develop advanced processing technologies for plant products from fruit and viticulture, up to TRL 5.

General objective

Elaboration and validation in laboratory conditions of the whole of an advanced processing technology of the vegetal resources coming from fruit and viticulture, for obtaining nutraceutical products with high added value

Phase I

Study on the implementation of advanced processing processes of plant resources from fruit and viticulture, to obtain nutraceuticals with high added value

ICECHIM partner activities:

  • Contributions to the formulation of a methodology for physico-chemical characterization of bioactive compounds with nutraceutical potential resulting from the stages of advanced processing of plant resources from fruit and viticulture in order to validate technologies
Phase II

Analytical and experimental studies at laboratory scale, for the validation of theoretical predictions for separate components of the advanced processing technology of plant resources from fruit and viticulture.

ICECHIM partner activities:

  • Contributions to the validation of the individual components of the advanced processing technology of the vegetal resources derived from fruit and viticulture through physico-chemical characterizations.
Phase III

Elaboration and validation in laboratory conditions of the whole of an advanced processing technology of the vegetal resources coming from fruit and viticulture, for obtaining nutraceutical products with high added value.

ICECHIM partner activities:

  • Contributions to the integration of existing primary processing technology components with advanced processing technology components to establish the functionality of the assembly.
  • Contributions to the validation of laboratory models of nutraceuticals obtained.
Phase IV

Elaboration of technical documentation for advanced processing technologies of plant resources from fruit and viticulture, for obtaining nutraceutical products with high added value.

  • Contributions to the elaboration of technical documentation for processing technologies.
