About us
The National Institute for Research & Development in Chemistry and Petrochemistry – ICECHIM Bucharest, established by Government Decision no. 293 / 04.03.2004, headquartered in 202, Splaiul Independenței Street, District 6, has as object of activity scientific research and technological development in the field of chemical and petrochemical industry.
The research and development activities carried out along the Romanian National Plan for research and development and innovation, the Sectoral Plans and the Core Program, within the framework of the International Research and Development and Innovation Programs and other scientific research and technological development activities can be summarized as follows:

The National Institute for Research & Development in Chemistry and Petrochemistry - ICECHIM Bucharest is, currently, under coordination of the National Authority for Research (Ministry of Education and Research), according to HG 188/2025.

Roadmap for Implementing the 2025–2029 Strategic Development Plan
ICECHIM Bucharest operates within a strategic management framework focused on scientific excellence, innovation, technology transfer and societal impact.
To ensure the effective implementation of its institutional objectives and the transparent monitoring of progress, the Institute has developed the Roadmap for Implementing the 2025–2029 Strategic Development Plan.
The Roadmap defines the Institute's strategic objectives, implementation measures, key performance indicators (KPIs), and monitoring and evaluation mechanisms that will guide its development throughout the 2025–2029 period, in alignment with national and European priorities in research, development and innovation.
